Hi!
My name is Lola White. I am a textile designer from Toronto Canada, currently studying Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I believe in the inherent beauty and value of textiles. I use traditional techniques including embroidery, knitting, and mending, as their time consuming nature acts as a reminder of the enhanced emotional and material quality of an object when it is handmade. Every piece I make is created with the intent of either extending the life cycle of a textile or highlighting traditional textile crafts. Through my work, I imagine an alternative fashion landscape where clothing is revitalized rather than disposed of and garments are an expression of personal history rather than arbitrary trends.
